Holmwood House was built as two separate houses in the middle of the nineteenth Century and backs onto one of the prettiest squares in York. These listed buildings have been lovingly restored to retain the ambience of a private home. When you arrive you will be provided with your own bedroom and front door key so you are ablle too come and go as you please.

On the ground floor there is a comfortable sitting room in which guests can relax following their days sightseeing. Here you will find a selection of books and information about things to see and do in the local area. For those guest who find stairs difficult there are three rooms at ground level and one at garden level. Guests have a choice from the breakfast menu and special diets can be accomodated by prior arrangement.

Rooms Description

At Holmwood House each of our rooms are individually designed and furnished and all have en-suite facilities. Each is equipped with colour television, coffee and tea making facilities, radio alarm clock, hairdryer and direct dial telephone. Family suites are also available for up to six people and some are fully air conditioned. In the interests of the comfort of all of our guests we operate a fully non smoking environment.

Why not enjoy a two or three night break at Holmwood House on one of our Gourmet Breaks? You stay at Holmwood and enjoy dinner at nearby Melton's Restaurant each evening, choosing from the full menu and paying only for wine.
