The cottage has been fully modernised to a high standard and yet retains many of its original features, beautifully combining the old with the new. Dating back to the early 18th century when it was a cosy old fisherman’s cottage. The cottage is a quaint 3 minute walk to the town centre and Pannett Park (ideal for dog walking) is just a minute's walk away. Set in a secluded quiet yard close to the town centre, harbour and all attractions with private parking. What better way to spend your stay in Whitby!
Whitby is a traditional seaside fishing town on the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Dominated by the cliff top ruins of a 13th century Abbey, this quaint maritime town with its old cobbled streets, picturesque houses and beautiful sandy beaches and was once home of Captain James Cook - probably Whitby’s most famous inhabitant. Also famous for Bram Stoker's Dracula, Frank Meadow Sutcliffe (Victorian photographer), Whitby Jet and of course the Fish 'n' Chips. Explore Whitby’s narrow alleys and cobble streets. The old town where you find yourself within an array of unique shops, and the 199 steps to the famous Whitby Abbey, with amusement arcades, the Dracula Experience, museums, mini golf, bus tours, leisure centre and many more entertainments. Whitby is now an all year round holiday resort and can be enjoyed equally by those who want to relax and take in the sights and history and for those who want a more lively visit there are many bars, nightclubs, local pubs and award winning restaurants. Whitby today continues to be a busy fishing port offering excellent sea fishing from the piers, quay or off shore on one of the numerous fishing trips. Access to other attractions and places of interest is easy from Whitby. Flamingoland Zoo and theme park, Scarborough, Grosmont steam railway, Heartbeat country, Goathland (otherwise known as Aidensfield), Robins Hood's Bay and the North Yorkshire Moors to name a few are all just a short drive away.
Amber cottage provides comfortable accommodation for up to four adults or a family of five and is well equipped with all the facilities the vistor might need during a self catering stay. The kitchen houses an electric oven, microwave, washer/dryer, toaster, fridge/freezer and kettle for your convenience. In the lounge you will find a colour TV with DVD/CD for your enjoyment.There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with additional chair bed that can accommodate a young child. In addition to this there is ample room for a travel cot in either bedroom.
Welcome pack on arrival. One well behaved house trained small dog is welcome by prior arrangement. Bed linen and towels are provided, however you should bring your own beach towels. There is private parking for one car (unsuitable for larger than average cars). There are a number of stairs in and around the property which may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
