There has been a manor house on the site for over 1000 years and the main part of the house was built by one of the last Templar Knights, Sir John Harcourt. To help fund the restoration work the house is open for bed and breakfast or self catering bookings from July 2007. This will enable others, both history enthusiasts and lovers of the beautiful county of Yorkshire, to enjoy this historic house and its fabulous setting. The house is conveniently located seven miles north of the market town of Skipton and six miles south of Settle, and just one hour's drive from the urban centres of Leeds and Manchester.
The Attic Apartment (1000 sq ft)houses an en-suite double bedroom, modern sitting room and fabulous roof terrace.The Attic Apartment also contains a galley kitchen and is available as a self catering let or Bed & Breakfast or combination. The 'Square', 'Chapel' and 'Old' Bedrooms are large en-suite doubles with four poster beds, antique furniture & two have log fires. The 'Old' Bedroom is suitable for use as a family or twin. The house is heated 24/7 by a 'eco' ground source heat pump so plenty of hot water and the fires are for romance only! Free wi-fi in all bedrooms.
