The resort town of Bridlington is one of Yorkshire's best kept secrets, explore the busy harbour and wander through the historic old town with its curiosity shops and Priory Church. The bustling town centre has a wide range of shops, coffee shops and cafes and there is a good selection of bars and restaurants too. The Monarch Hotel is perfectly placed on South Marine Drive, and is just a short stroll away from the town along the promenade.
Out and about, there's so much to do and see. The breathtaking Heritage Coast stretches for miles, and a visit to the spectacular cliffs at Flamborough Head is not to be missed. The ancient city of York is about an hour away, and you'll need a day to explore. Walk around the preserved city walls, visit the impressive Minster, and amble around the labyrinth of narrow streets known as The Shambles for interesting souvenirs and curios. The lovely 'floral town' of Harrogate is within reach too, or take a journey back in time at the award winning Eden Camp, a unique museum recreating scenes from wartime Britain. A visit to Sewerby Hall and Gardens is well recommended too, as is a gentle tour through the rolling Yorkshire Wolds, and the more dramatic scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors and Captain Cook Country.
