Rose Cottage is over 180 years old and is an integral part of the village and local history. The cottage is grade II listed and has stone walls and beams throughout, helping the property to retain much of its character whilst offering all the modern comforts. The cottage is cosy and bright. The Breakfast room may be used at anytime by the B&B guests and has its own wood burning fire.

Goathland is famous for being Aidensfield in the ITV show Hearbeat. Rose Cottage is a short stroll away from the Aidensfield Arms and Scripps Garage among all the other sights from the show. Goathland station is only 5 minutes walk and is one of the stops on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway line. It was also used as Hogsmeade station in Harry Potter. Goathland Station is a step back in time with its period characteristics and many steam locomotives. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the sights of the North Yorkshire Moors. Guests can also go out on foot and explore the North Yorkshire Moors through the many winding trails and pathways that illustrate the natural beauty of the region. Situated just a short 20 minute drive from Whiby, where guests can enjoy fish and chips along the seafront, shop in the many boutique stores and look around the inspiration for Bram Stokers 'Dracula', Whitby Abbey.
