The owner has spent more than a decade restoring the property to its original splendour, creating a stylish but relaxed atmosphere, ideal for both entertaining and unwinding. A spacious building with private garden overlooking the neighbouring Thurlstone Parish Church and with views extending towards Woodhead Pass - Tourist Board 5 Star Rating. The house makes a perfect location for reunions, family gatherings and wedding parties. A small marquee is available on request at a small extra charge. There are ample facilities to cater for up to 25 people. James Dabb can supply a marquee on hire particular to the house which increases the capacity for a party to 60 easily.
The Parsonage House is also ideally located for walkers wishing to explore either Derbyshire's Peak District or the spectacular Yorkshire Moors and Dales, while lovers of historic architecture will find many celebrated properties, including Castle Howard, Chatworths House, Brodsworth Hall, Haddon and Hardwick all within easy driving distance. In addition, the village of Haworth, home of the Bronte sisters and now one of the world's most famous centres of literary pilgrimage is just one of many other attractions. Although most visitors are expected to arrive by car, the Parsonage House is also easily accessible by public transport, with a regular train and bus service to Penistone and full bus link from there to Thurlstone. For relaxing at the end of the day, the Hunstman Pub, just a short walk from the Parsonage House in the centre of Thurlstone, in a well-known real ale house, while in Penistone there is a full range of restaurants, including traditional English, Italian and Indian. Penistone even boasts its own cinema, the Paramount, which screens all the latest movie releases and also hosts local drama companies. The Paramount is also extremely well known as the home of one of Britain's few surviving fully-working cinema organs.
This imposing property comprises an elegant reception hall - complete with baby grand piano - fully-equipped kitchen as used by chef and TV star Jamie Oliver during his recent stay, drawing room, study, dining room, bathroom and separate shower room and five bedrooms which can easily and comfortably accommodate up to nine guests.
Bed linen is provided. Towels are provided at a small extra cost if required. The property is always fully cleaned and prepared before the arrival of guests and, for any party staying longer than seven days, a weekly cleaning service is provided. There is also parking space available for several cars. WIFI and Sky Television. There are four televisions - including one in the Music Room, Kitchen and Master Bedroom. DVD facility is also available.
