Beverley is the capital of the East Riding of Yorkshire. There are many fine buildings in the town, which is dominated by the magnificent Minster and the St Mary's Church, both of which date back to medieval times as does the Friary. Other attractions include Beverley Art gallery and the Beverley racecourse. It is the general ambience of the town, however, which is the chief attraction. The Westwood affords a pleasant evening stroll and a fine view of the town.
