A historic country inn offering bed and breakfast acccommodation in the quiet village of Scagglethorpe just outside Malton in magnificent North Yorkshire.
The Ham and Cheese Country Inn dates back to 1907 and before this time was one of the first farm shops in the country. Local farmers used to bring their produce to sell here and it is believed that the inn takes its unique name from this time. We are situated in the quiet village of Scagglethorpe, 2 miles from the market town of Malton. We are just off the A64, 18 miles either way to either York or Scarborough. With lots of attractions to visit in the area like Eden Camp, Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, Play Dale animal Farm and Flamingo Land you won't be short of places to go.
The Inn is proud of its reputation for good quality home cooked food, real ales and log fire. If you like a good steak or maybe a game dish such as rabbit pie or venison, you can try it here. Accommodation is above a quiet, traditional public house and restaurant offering superb bar meals, a la carte menu, real ales from the bar and a lovely log fire. Quiz night is every other Friday. Everybody welcome young and mature.
The accommodation consists of, double en-suite rooms and a spacious self contained apartment, sleeping up to four people with views across the moors. Wireless Internet Access is also available. Full English breakfast is served at a time to suit you. Packed lunches are availabe.
