This unspoilt country village lies between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Park, a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas on foot or by car. The historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is just five miles away and is the gateway to the spectacular Lake District beyond, where visitors will discover a whole variety of outdoor activities.
Alternatively, the Dales town of Ingleton, with its caves and the Waterfalls Walk is just one mile away. Just a little further is the delightful village of Hawes and the picturesque Dent, characterised by its lovely cobbled streets. More locally visitors will find fishing in the rivers, canoeing (water levels permitting), pony trekking, tennis and bowls. Whatever your reason for visiting the area, you can be guaranteed of a comfortable and enjoyable stay at River Cottage.
River Cottage has a choice of double, twin or family rooms each of which is ensuite and equipped with colour television and central heating. Complimentary Tea and Coffee making facilities are available in our relaxing Riverside Conservatory also with colour TV. Our Dining Room adjacent gives you the opportunity to enjoy the varied, interesting and often amusing wildlife on the River, whilst taking a leisurely breakfast between 9 and 10am.
For breakfast we serve a full English or vegetarian option, made using locally sourced produce. A variety of cereals and fruit juices are available, along with tea and coffee, toast and a selection of fresh jams and preserves.
