The town is dominated by the cliff top ruins of the 13th century abbey, reached by ascending the famous 199 steps from the old town which is characterised by its cobbled streets and picturesque houses. Whitby has a wide variety of unique shops offering local crafts and the Jet jewellery for which the town is renowned.There ample free street parking.
In 2008 we won the Whitby Hospitality Association Catering Award. The accommodation is just a short walk from the town centre and the Pavillion, pubs, beach and harbour.We are a short walk from Whitby leisure centre that has a variety of indoor and outdoor sports including a lovely 25 metre swimming pool. Guests start the day with a traditional full English breakfast, so good the guest house is named after it!
