Rook Residence is a friendly family run guesthouse. Our breakfast room doubles as a guest lounge (with colour T.V, video & radio) and is open for your enjoyment all day. The room has large patio doors so on sunny mornings you may enjoy your breakfast on the patio if you wish, there are also lazy chairs and a log fire to cheer up those cold winter evenings. We are not licensed but feel free to bring your own favourite tipple. We offer clothes drying and ironing facilities, and there are outside washing facilities for those very muddy hiking boots.
There are two pubs very close by and both serve excellent lunchtime and evening meals, a little further situated is an haute cuisine restaurant and an Italian restaurant. There are also various takeaways most of which will deliver to the door. A two-minute walk takes you to the local park, which offers a children's play area, a mini golf course, crown green bowling and tennis courts. The famous walking route The Calderdale Way runs straight past Rook Residence through the park and on. There are stables close by for those among you who like to see the countryside from horseback. There are beautiful golf courses and historic buildings in abundance. Shibden Hall, Fountains Abby, Harewood House, to name but a few. For Art lovers there is Salts Mills with it's permanent David Hockney exhibition.
