Richmond is the gateway to Swaledale, with easy access to other dales such as Wensleydale. Its close location to the A1 and Scotch Corner make it an ideal base for touring the wider North East such as York and Durham, as well as trips over to the Lake District. Situated on the Coast to Coast, the house is well located for walkers and cyclists, with a wide range of nearby routes. Cycles can be securely stored and walker pick ups and drop offs can be pre-arranged with the owner.

The cottage dates back to the eighteenth century and has been developed around a Georgian country cottage, sympathetically extended by a barn conversion. The property retains many original features including original oak beams in many rooms, and exudes charm and character. Start the day with a hearty Yorkshire breakfast in our separate dining room. Guests are welcome to relax in the large lounge area located in the barn extension. Here you will find a range of books as well as games such as chess that can be enjoyed whilst relaxing on the comfortable sofas. There is a large log burning marble fireplace to ensure your comfort on the cooler evenings.
