Easby Cottage offers bed and breakfast accommodation in the picturesque hamlet of Easby, close to the historic market town of Richmond in North Yorkshire. Richmond is the gateway to Swaledale, with easy access to other dales such as Wensleydale. Its close location to the A1 and Scotch Corner make it an ideal base for touring the wider North East such as York and Durham, as well as trips over to the Lake District. Situated on the Coast to Coast, the house is well located for walkers and cyclists, with a wide range of nearby routes. Cycles can be securely stored and walker pick ups and drop offs can be pre-arranged with the owner.
The cottage dates back to the eighteenth century and has been developed around a Georgian country cottage, sympathetically extended by a barn conversion. The property retains many original features including original oak beams in many rooms, and exudes charm and character. Start the day with a hearty Yorkshire breakfast in our separate dining room. Guests are welcome to relax in the large lounge area located in the barn extension. Here you will find a range of books as well as games such as chess that can be enjoyed whilst relaxing on the comfortable sofas. There is a large log burning marble fireplace to ensure your comfort on the cooler evenings.
Easby Cottage B&B has two individually decorated bedrooms. One is a large twin bedded room with en-suite facilities and the other is a double bedroom with private use of the adjacent bathroom. Each room is equipped with flat screen television, DVD player, digital radio, hospitality tray, hair dryer and alarm clock. A comfortable fold up bed is available for children (up to 7 years) in the double or twin room at a charge of £10 per night, including breakfast.
Children are welcome. Please NOTE that Easby Cottage B&B is strictly non smoking and that we are unable to accept pets. Pick-up and drop-offs for walkers can be arranged with the owner. Day fishing permits may be obtained in season for the nearby river Swale. Packed lunches are available if ordered in advance. Parking is also available.
