A newly renovated two bedroom apartment sleeping up to five people in a wing of an Elizabethan Hall close to the centre of Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire
Hebden Bridge enjoys a national reputation as a liberal, artistic and creative community, with a cosmopolitan atmosphere more akin to larger towns. Its tremendous character is enhanced by the sweeping hills and open countryside around. Trendy wine bars and excellent restaurants nestle comfortably with traditional inns and alehouses steeped in history. Hebden Bridge has featured in the national media for being the best town in Britain for independent shops. The Independent rated it highest for best retaining its individual character. The town has an authentic 1920's cinema, 120-seat theatre. Live music is scheduled throughout the year at the Trades Club. Traditional events through the year include the nationally acclaimed arts festival in June/July, the Hebden bridge annual duck race, carnival and bonfire.
The town nestles in the Calder Gorge; the hills rise steeply on either side, littered with villages and settlements. The area has one of the best rights-of-way networks in Britain and several national way-marked trails pass through its dramatic and varied scenery. Britain's first and best-known National Trail, the Pennine Way, passes close by. The Calderdale Way, a 50-mile (80 km) circular route around the Calder Valley, skirts the town.
Newly renovated high spec 2-bed apartment in wing of Elizabethan Hall. Close to the centre of town. The apartment has its own large entrance porch off the rear courtyard. The property has stone mullioned windows and fireplaces there are stone flags throughout with under floor heating, each room individually thermostatically controlled. There is a large open plan kitchen living area with views onto the main courtyard and gardens. Towels and bedding provided. The accommodation sleeps up to 5 people. There is a double room with a built in wardrobe, and a single bedroom. There is a sofa bed that sleeps 2 in the living room.
The property is only a few minutes walk from the centre of town but being set in private grounds it has a sense of seclusion.
