The Barn at Holmfirth. a stone-built, detached 3-Star self-catering holiday cottage located in the village of Holmfirth - home to the popular TV series, " Last of the Summer Wine " and also the setting for "Where the Heart Is". Visitors flock to the area not just for its celebrity status, though - Holmfirth is a great location from which to explore some of Yorkshire's most stunning scenery. Walks, pubs, restaurants, shows and city centre shopping attract many visitors back to the area each year. Holmfirth itself has many events through the year, Holmfirth Artweek is also a great opportunity to see some of Yorkshire's finest creative talent, plus holfrith folk festival, Holmfirth food and drink festival, the Christmas markets, there is always something on in and around the village.

The Barn is a great place to start from and retire to after a day of exploration around the region. Guests can make use of the barn's modern amenities, including flat screen TV, DVD player, CD music system, luxurious bathroom with double ended bath, a palce you can watch the stars through the roof skylight, very relaxing indeed. The kitchen provides guests with all of the equipment expected for self-catering at home, even down to an egg cup and the all important ball of string. The Barn also has a great supply of board games and card games including the family classics Monopoly,Cluedo, Sankes n Ladders, Trivial Pursuit and many more, along with books , CD's and DVD's for all guests to enjoy. Just two minutes away is the Wooldale Arms, a quaint and friendly local pub, delightfull place indeed, and always a game of darts on offer. Just a mile down the road is the famous Sid's Cafe and the Last of the Summer Wine Museum, plus the barn is on the "summer wine" tour route, so the vintage coach passes the barn daily as the area around the barn has been used often as a filming location. If you see the tour bus, give them a wave.

The Barn has 3 bedroom and 2 bathrooms, sleeping upto 6 adults. From the gable end you will see the stunning views down the Holme Valley and beyond. The barn is detached and car parking is on street parking on Town End Road or on Cliff Lane, which is the small road to the right of the barn. The main bedroom also provides en-suite facilities, whilst the twin bedroom and Adult bunk bedroom both have the use of the barn's main luxury bathroom with the double ended bath and power shower. The open plan living room and dining room have oak wood flooring throughout, complementing the modern decor in the barn. The dining room can very comfortably accommodate up to six people. The kitchen is packed full of all the essential mod cons, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, large double oven range and plenty of crockery and cutlery and glassware, and ofcourse a champagne bucket for the romantics out there.
