Idyllically situated on the coast just 3 miles north of Whitby, the luxury Porthole, is a B&B with a difference in Sandsend, - a superb gateway into the North York Moors it boasts stunning views towards Whitby Abbey, the beach and the North Sea. We cater for two guests on a bed and breakfast basis at The Porthole which is perfectly placed for all year round retreat. Sandy Sandsend beach is a popular spot for coastal walking, rock-pooling and fossil hunting. We’re also within easy reach of beautiful Runswick Bay just to the north whilst the delights of Whitby nestle just to the south from the magnificent ruins of Whitby Abbey and the Captain Cook Museum to Whitby’s wide choice of fine inns, cafes and Whitby Jet craft shops. Sandsend itself has several cafes, two restaurants, two pubs and a superb village shop as well as various gift shops and an art gallery.

Our independent B&B holiday home near Whitby has its own private terrace with breathtaking sea views, accessed via French doors. Nestling within the pretty grounds of Beacon Hill, the B&B holiday home has its own private entrance and on-site car parking. Perfect for romantic breaks on the Yorkshire coast, living space includes an immaculately presented double bedroom with a unique nautical theme featuring a six foot bed and antique ships lamps and a character ‘porthole’. The bathroom is fully fitted with a large kidney shaped bath with shower and the small kitchenette area contains a sink, fridge, toaster, a kettle and kitchen china and cutlery. After a long day’s walking and touring, guests can relax and gaze at the sea with a glass of wine or the B&B holiday home also features TV, radio, DVD and a selection of films and books for guest use.
