Elmfield House is a warm and friendly family-run guesthouse between Bedale and Leyburn, North Yorkshire. Set in beautiful open countryside, our guests enjoy a peaceful place to base themselves whilst exploring the many sights and attractions of North Yorkshire. We are pleased to hold ratings of 4 stars and Silver Award with Visit Britain as well as 4 stars and a Highly Commended award from the AA, both of which reflect the quality of our facilities and service. Our aim is to set you up for your day exploring the Dales or Moors by taking care of you with clean, spacious en-suite rooms, friendly service and delicious, hearty Yorkshire breakfasts. Evening meals are available by arrangement and we have the benefit of holding a residential license so you can enjoy a glass of wine with dinner or in the garden.

Our 7 rooms offer delightful views of the paddocks, complete with ponies and sheep, our woodland and extensive views over the surrounding countryside. The garden is open for guests to relax in - maybe enjoy a cup of tea or a drink once your cases are unloaded. Our conservatory is also a pleasant place to spend a warm afternoon relaxing and we also have a lounge area with books and games available. Disabled guests are more than welcome at Elmfield House, with needs specially catered for and rooms and bathrooms designed for ease of access and use. Our wheel in showers with seat allow for lateral transfer from a wheelchair.

Rooms Description

Each room has been decorated to give a traditional feel and is comfortably-furnished, with ample space for guests' storage requirements. For guests looking for something extra special, a majestic four-poster bed is available and we have one room with a king size bed. En-suite facilities are provided as standard in all rooms and bathroom facilities are well-maintained and clean. A delicious breakfast, using locally-sourced and home produced ingredients - our (very_) free range eggs from our hens are always popular, is served in the dining room. A home cooked evening meal is available by arrangement. We are proud to offer good food which we can trace - or example our beef is raised at the end of our drive. Vegetarians are welcome and other dietary requirements can be met with prior notice.

Our location is outstanding with peace and tranquility and views extending for miles across the surrounding countryside. For those who would like to immerse themselves in the wildlife we have paddocks, rough grassland, woods and a small lake where you are welcome to walk and explore. We also have a variety of friendly animals who are always pleased to see guests. We are committed to making the most of our location by supporting the local businesses and by reducing our carbon footprint wherever possible.
