A conservatory to the rear catches the afternoon sun providing a delightfully quiet space for catching up on your holiday reading in this tranquil environment. The grounds are also home to several curious peacocks who often pay a visit to the garden, and if you're lucky you may even spot a deer! Ideal for the nature lovers amongst you. Thornton Rust is around 2 miles from the popular village of Aysgarth in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Aysgarth Falls, a spectacular visitor attraction in which the River Ure has carved waterfalls through the valley is certainly worthy of a visit and there is a National Park centre close by to visit. From the cottage, many walks can be found that are suitable for any age or ability. The market town of Hawes is easily accessible from the cottage, and provides amenities such as shops, pubs, restaurants and museums. No visit to Wensleydale is complete without a trip to the Creamery in Hawes where you may watch the famous cheese being made and maybe even sample a selection from the shop.
