Visit Websitefor more informationThe Hayloft offers spacious, luxurious, 4 star self contained first floor accommodation and is across the courtyard from Flamborough Rigg Cottage, which dates back to the early 1800's. Situated on the edge of Cropton Forest within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, it offers comfort, every possible facility and of course wonderful views over the forest and towards Newtondale. We have tried to anticipate all of your needs; a local food hamper, a well equipped kitchen, a choice of a lounge with widescreen TV / DVD and a log burner or a cosy, a quiet snug for when you really want to get away from it all. There is also a long list of recommended pubs and restaurants for when you don’t want to cook. The Hayloft is ideally placed for walking the dogs or mountain biking through the forest, exploring the moors or strolling along the beach on Britain’s most beautiful coastline.
Our situation on Flamborough Rigg means you are only yards away from a lot of great walks, whether it be in Cropton Forest or on the moors. We are also perfectly located for a drive over the moors towards Whitby and the coast, Pickering for a ride on the steam train, Helmsley and the many ruined abbeys such as Byland and Rievaulx. The magnificent City of York is a short drive away. Equally The Hayloft is ideal for sitting in the garden with a glass of wine looking at the views over the forest and Newtondale. The garden is equipped with a barbecue and is fully enclosed making it safe for dogs.
The Hayloft provides spacious self contained first floor accommodation. Luxuriously appointed, all the rooms have the benefit of being recently refurbished and decorated. The bedroom has a double bed, locally made furniture and LCD TV with DVD. The rooms have lovely views, across the courtyard to Cropton forest and over the gardens towards the Roman Road and Newtondale. A fully equipped kitchen including electric oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. The large lounge/dining room has twin aspect views, comfy sofas and a wood burning stove for those cosier evenings. There is a large LCD TV with DVD. The snug is a separate lounge ideal for peace and quiet away from the telly. The bathroom has a double ended bath with a shower. The Hayloft has it’s own entrance from the courtyard of Flamborough Rigg Cottage and also has use of the fully enclosed garden including it’s sun terrace and barbeque area. The garden has a good sized lawn and is crammed full of interesting shrubs, quite a few varieties of Acer, a surprising number of lilies and many different fruit trees.
Home cooked meals can be pre-ordered, please see our website for full details. If you are staying for a week or more there will be a local food hamper waiting for you. This will include sausages and dry cured bacon from Cedar Barn near Pickering, fantastic free range eggs, homemade bread and preserves, milk, local butter, orange juice and often some seasonal fruit from the garden. Extras such as an additional TV with DVD player in the bedroom, dab radio alarm clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, central heating, some logs and coal, towels and linen are supplied. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. The Hayloft is a non smoking establishment.
