Haworth's cobbled Main Street, lined with inns, shops, cafes and galleries, has kept its historic atmosphere. The village is renowned for its association with the Bronte sisters and here visitors can see the Bronte Parsonage Museum which reveals more about their life and works. The surrounding open countryside offers everything from a relaxing moorland stroll to the 40 mile Bronte Way. Mountain bikes are also available locally for hire. The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway is an award winning fully restored steam train service which runs between Keighley and Oxenhope stopping at Haworth. Close to Haworth is East Riddlesden Hall, a beautiful 17th century merchant's house and Saltaire, a preserved Victorian model industrial village. Eureka, situated in Halifax, is Britain's leading interactive museum for children while Bradford has the fabulous National Media Museum. Skipton (Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales) and the Spa towns of Ilkley and Harrogate are within easy driving distance and each offer something different for the day visitor.
