Surrounded by deer farmland and the gently rolling hills of Derbyshire, it is a fantastic place for walking, wildlife spotting and cycling with a wealth of footpaths and bridleways for easy access. The village itself has good pubs for evening meals, a lovely café and gift shop. Chatsworth House is nearby and Baslow and Bakewell are within easy reach, as are Bolsover Castle, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall.
Nesfield Cottage B&B itself is at the end of a quiet country lane and well away from the main road with its own private guest car park. Rated four-star by Quality in Tourism and having been awarded Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome status for commitment to ensuring guests get the most from the countryside. Maps, walking guides, and weather information are provided and there is lockable storage space for bikes. Packed lunches are available and a dedicated drying room with de-humidifier for drying wet gear. There is also a lovely south-facing garden and patio area with table and chairs for guests to use.
Nesfield Cottage B&B's bedrooms were newly refurbished in 2008. Tastefully decorated in restful colours and spacious enough for an extra bed or cot, should you require it. The beds are super-king size and really comfortable for a good night's sleep with spare blankets if you need them, or adjust the radiator thermostats to suit. There are well-stocked hospitality trays in every room, freeview TV, hairdryer, books & magazines, guest information folders and ironing facilities on request. The generous en-suites have showers that are larger than average and are always spotlessly clean with warm towels ready. There is a separate guest entrance which is key-coded for security.
Nesfield Cottage B&B is proud of its breakfast menu which uses fresh, local produce where possible and delicious home-made bread, which is made here almost every day. Bacon, sausage and free range eggs are from a local farm and our fresh fruit platter has to be seen to be believed! Ask about our new Breakfast-To-Go service if you want an early start or why not try a Mother Precious Lobster Special if you fancy something a little different!
