The house itself sits at the edge of extensive fields leading down to the river and offers a friendly B&B service with fantastic Tapas and Paella cooked fresh to order should you require an evening meal. The village of Thorganby itself is just 10 miles south of the beautiful City of York and we have 2 'Park & Ride' sites within 5 miles of the School House B & B. Less than a 5 minute walk down a quiet lane where you'll find a CAMRA recommended local pub for those who like a quiet drink. The School House B & B is within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors, the Wolds and the seaside towns of Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby with its Abbey and home to Dracula... The City of York is a Viking town bordered by the River Ouse and is home to one of the most beautiful cathedrals of medieval times. Full of interesting shops, restaurants, pubs and museums there is something for all tastes in this lovely city. The surrounding countryside is criss crossed with paths, bridleways and cycle routes to enjoy walking, cycling, horse riding or mountain biking in the beautiful county of North Yorkshire.
Two double rooms are available at the School House. Tastefully decorated with quality furnishings and comfortable beds for a great nights sleep. Full Yorkshire breakfast is included with a choice of cereals, fruit juices, free range eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato and also tea or coffee. Alternatively we have a Continental Spanish Breakfast option if you prefer with Chorizo, Serrano Ham and a selection of cheeses.
Evening meals are a pleasure at the School House. With over 5 years of expertise in preparing Spanish Tapas and Paella evenings, we can offer guests a superb, different, evening meal. Delights such as chorizo, oilves, capers, roasted peppers, paella, prawns in garlic, squid, cheeses, anchovies and fresh olive bread are all temptingly served as 'small plates' to sample and try as many as you like! Parking available. Pets welcome by prior arrangement.
