Formally High Royd and home of Mary Taylor, feminist writer in her own right and friend and inspiration to Charlotte Bronte. Mary Taylor moved here in 1860, having returned from New Zealand. Her feminist views were no doubt developed in New Zealand where women had the vote much earlier than the UK. Gomersall Lodge has been tastefully converted to offer modern amenities, whilst retaining many original features.
All our rooms are fully en-suite with generous hospitality trays, colour television and radio alarms. Guests can enjoy delicious homecooked food and an extensive wine list in our elegant dining room, and relax in our in-house bar.
