Both cottages have been decorated to an exceptionally high standard and offer divine comfort and excellent facilities. Sawdon has a wonderful pub, The Anvil Inn, whose restaurant is Michelin & Good Food Guide recommended, three fine real ales and a delightful beer garden, perfect for those warm Summer evenings. The Old Nail Shed is detached in the grounds of the pub and is where the blacksmith kept all his nails and metals. Both cottages are beautifully furnished throughout, well appointed & regularly maintained.
Sawdon is perfectly situated for visiting the beautiful coastal towns of Scarborough & Whitby. The historic city of York is only 40 mins away on the A64, and the North York Moors are on your doorstep. Food lovers will be more than happy at the Good Food Guide rated Anvil Inn. For those who enjoy walking or cycling, Sawdon sits beside Wykeham Forest which leads into Dalby, the Great Yorkshire Forest. There is also a 9 hole pay-and-play golf course in the village.Horse drawn forest carriage drives can also be arranged nearby.
Stones Throw Cottage - The living area is open plan with solid oak flooring,fully equipped galley kitchen with full size cooker & extractor, fridge, microwave, TV/DVD,CD player, electric wood burner ( in addition to controllable central heating), dining area for two, and comfortable sitting furniture -- all on one level. Wireless internet access is available. There is one double bedroom (orthopaedic mattress & non-allergenic bedding),ensuite extra roomy shower room. Bed linen & towels are provided. The Old Nail Shed - a gable high window and doors at one end make the most of the views to the west across open countryside. The doors open onto a secluded courtyard garden with table and chairs.Barbecue available on request. Inside, slate floor throughout is heated from underneath. The kitchen is ultra modern and fully fitted - touch control ceramic hob, electric oven, under counter fridge freezer.The Old Nail Shed features a designer bathroom with Roca fittings and bateau bath, star lights in the ceiling. A stunning bespoke wrought iron staircase leads up to the mezzanine level fully fitted bedroom, with soft carpets and rugs. Comfortable seating, lovely lighting, large flat screen digital TV/DVD and mini hi-fi. Towels, linen and electricity are included.Laundry facilities are available for both cottages
Weekly lets are from Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks for a minimum of three nights out of season & excluding Bank Holidays. In the low season, if it fits in with other bookings, we do offer a B&B package for one or two nights. If you are dining at The Anvil Inn, bed & breakfast served in The Old Nail Shed is available for £135.00 per night (excluding dinner)
