In the cooler months log fires enhance the cosy atmosphere of the lounge and public bars. The Hotel has 6 attractive en-suite bedrooms on the first floor with modern facilities and there is even a 4 poster bed, perfect for a honeymoon or special occasion.

The hotel stands in front of historic Middleham Castle, favourite home of Richard III, in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The outer wall of the castle forms part of the hotel's restaurant which is open each evening and available for Sunday lunch. Our hilltop hotel affords excellent views across Wensleydale, and most mornings you can see some of the local race horses being trained on the High Moor Gallops. The town is famous for it's history, racing legends and the mysterious Middleham Jewel. The town is perfect for a day at the races, or walks through the Yorkshire Dales. Shop in the market town of Leyburn and taste Wensleydale's famous crumbly cheese. Explore the local castles and tour the Theakston and Black Sheep breweries. Stroll by the Aysgarth Falls, or take a trip to the Cat Pottery in West Burton.
