We are an ideal base for both business and leisure visitors looking for guest accommodation in South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire. The property is Grade II listed dating back to around 1750, refurbished in 2006 it now offers a perfect retreat for anyone looking for a relaxing break. We enjoy a convenient location close to the villages of Laughton-en-le-Morthen, Todwick, Anston, Woodsetts and Firbeck. We are just three miles from the M1/M18/A57 junction and within easy reach of the centres of Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Worksop.
The four English counties of Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire are all within minutes of Throapham House. To the east is open countryside with views over the Trent Valley towards north Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The historical cities of York and Lincoln and the traditional seaside resorts of the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire coasts are all easy day trips from here. A few miles to the south and you are in some of the finest traditional English countryside with Sherwood Forest and its association with Robin Hood. To the west we are about half an hour by car from the Peak District National Park with its stunning moorland scenery, historic houses and many picturesque communities.
We have three en-suite guest bedrooms. All are equipped with high quality furniture and fittings and have tea and coffee making facilities, TV with remote control, DAB clock radio alarm, writing desk / dressing table and a range of toiletries. Our largest room features a bath with separate shower cubicle and can be converted to a twin on request. Subject to availability and additional cost, we can accommodate an additional guest on a fold-up bed in our two larger rooms. Wake up to a delicious home-made breakfast served in our spacious dining room. We use fresh ingredients sourced from our gardens and local producers when available and in season. We also cater for vegetarian and gluten free diets.
