The Blacksmiths Arms offers B&B accomodation available in a choice of three beautiful rooms, and is ideal for anybody attending weddings or other functions at Sandburn Hall. When it comes to dining out, the Blacksmiths Arms takes pride in its home cooked menu with its emphasis on great, traditional food using locally sourced ingredients. Everything is cooked to order, right down to the proper chips! The varied menu changes regularly, with a large selection of daily specials, and signature dishes including the Flaxton Flipper, a 12-14oz Haddock in beer batter, and homemade Beef in Guinness Pie. The Sunday Roast, with homemade gravy, is always popular. Vegetarian dishes are always available. There is always an excellent range of traditional ales on offer, including Black Sheep, Timothy Taylor's Landlord, Theakston, and York Brewery's Guzzler. As well as the large bar and restaurant areas, there is outdoor seating at the front and rear of the pub. Local attractions include Castle Howard, Eden Camp, and Sandburn Hall Golf Club.

Additional Information

The Blacksmiths Arms has three charming guest rooms, each retaining many of the original features of the building. The Byland Room has a double bed and en-suite shower room; The Kirkham Room has a double bed with a bathroom built into the eaves and finally; The Rievaulx Room has a double bed, single bed and a double sofa bed with large bathroom. Each guest room is complete with TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Guests also have use of the Crooked Snug - a comfortable sitting room - and the large garden, which includes a sitting area. All prices are inclusive of a full English breakfast.
