Welcome to Storm Cottage, a charming 4 star 'Gold Award' Fisherman's cottage, perfect for a romantic hideaway. Set in the heart of the historic East Side of Whitby, this stone cottage sleeps 2. Combining original beams and sash windows with a contemporary interior, this cottage is conveniently close to the picturesque harbour, with its lively wine bars and award winning restaurants, and near to the 199 steps leading to Whitby Abbey, one of the finest examples of Anglo Saxon churches in the country, and whose churchyard gave Bram Stoker the inspiration to write his world famous book, Dracula.
Whitby has produced its own famous people. Among these are Captain James Cook, the 18th Century explorer and voyager, the outstanding father and son whaling masters of the Scoresby family and pioneer photographer, Frank Meadow Sutcliffe. Having a unique old world charm, for centuries Whitby has provided a safe haven for shipping and fishing fleets and is part of the Heritage Coast of North East England. Guests are encouraged to explore the rich history of Whitby and the surrounding area including Robin Hood's Bay, or move inland for the quaint villages along the River Esk. The small town has plenty of small and boutique shops and restaurants including classic tea rooms and fish bars.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and tiny courtyard with bistro table and chairs. First floor with limestone tiled shower room and separate dressing room. Second floor with king size bed, ipod docking station, Philippe Starck lamps and pretty chandelier.
