Seaton Hall Estate offers both self catering and bed and breakfast accommodation in four properties in and around Staithes on the east coast of Yorkshire. Seaton Hall itself is an ancient manor house with over 1000 years of history and is beautifully set in private gardens and grounds. The house is a walkers paradise with an abundance of cliff top and woodland walks to be found nearby. Historic Whitby lies just a short distance away and terminus for the country's longest steam railway. Other attractions include Saltburn with its charming Victorian pier, the quaint seaside village of Sandsend and Runswick, where fossils can be found on the beach.
Seaton Hall was successively rebuilt from 1480 onwards on the site of a Saxon manor house mentioned in the Domesday Book. Accommodation here is based on six double bedrooms with five bathrooms, drawing room, dining room, further kitchen/dining room and a separate original kitchen. The house retains much of its original character and is furnished with many pieces of antique furniture and paintings. It is centrally heated throughout and has a well equipped kitchen complete with fridge freezer and washing and drying machines. Attached to Seaton Hall is Seaton Court, formerly the servant's quarters, and now offering luxurious self catering accommodation. The property features a central hall with a double height vaulted timber ceiling, exposed stone wall and stone, oak and pine flooring with Persian carpets. The great hall has a ten seat dining table, concert grand piano, feature fireplace and wood burning stove. There is a sitting room with Tudor style fireplace, ample comfortable seating and a flat screen TV. Sleeping accommodation is in three double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms.
Self catering holiday rentals - from Seaton Cottage sleeping 4 to Seaton Court and Hall sleeping 10 each or together for larger groups. Garden Cottage in Staithes old village adds a further 5 beds.Garden Cottage is set in a secluded location in the heart of Staithes village, a character fisherman's cottage with panoramic views over the village and sea. The property is fitted to a high standard and furnished with antiques throughout. The cottage comprises of a beamed open plan living/dining room; kitchen with hand made units; double bedroom; single bedroom; and a twin bedroom with en-suite WC.
