Castle House Farm Cottages - Huddersfield

Idyllic self catering holiday cottages near Huddersfield and Holmfirth in a rural area on the edge of Summer Wine Country. Fully self contained, sleeping 2-5.

Castle House Farm Cottages are ideally located between Huddersfield and Holmfirth, in the heart of Last of the Summerwine county and the rural south Pennine area of Yorkshire. This is a beautiful location for walkers, and the cottages are close to all the delights of Holmfirth, including Sid's Cafe from Last of the Summer Wine, a beautiful independent cinema and an array of specialist shops and country pubs.

Guests can choose from four idyllic country cottages. Stable Cottage sleeps 4/5 people, and is a spacious, self-contained and very comfortable cottage comprising of lounge, double bedroom, twin/triple bedroom, separate bathroom/shower and has extensive views over the Lumb Valley. Slightly smaller and cosier Mistal Cottage sleeps 4 guests. Mistal has many charming features including exposed beams, and it combines an open-plan kitchen with a comfortable living room. Mistal has 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, and a separate bathroom/shower.

Rooms Description

Laithe apartment is a barn conversion that sleeps 2 guests, making it a perfect romantic weekend break location. Laithe cottage is a first floor apartment. The apartment comprises a spacious double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and a separate lounge and kitchen. Interestingly most of the exposed beams pre-date the original buildings. Sonny cottage is a traditional two story Yorkshire cottage. Self-contained and comfortable comprising lounge with gas stove in an inglenook fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen extension including a washing machine on the ground floor. The first floor has one double bedroom and separate bathroom/shower. A loft conversion, single bedroom is available, it has limited headroom but is ideal for a child/teenager to have their own space.The cottage has amazing panoramic views over the Pennine hills, valleys and villages from almost every room.

All the holiday cottages are fully contained self-catering cottages fully modernised to the highest standard by local craftsmen and now benefit from modern kitchens and full central heating. The cottages still retain their rustic charm and atmosphere. Private car park, all Castle House Cottages are available for letting throughout the year.
