Situated on a quiet lane in the small unspoilt and quiet village of Starbotton, the cottage nestles under the slopes of Buckden Pike in the very heart of the breathtaking beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Starbotton village boasts a traditional Dales Inn serving excellent ales and food. The village is a perfect centre for walking (with five footpaths leading in all directions and the area is criss-crossed with pack horse trails), mountain biking, cycling, fishing, potholing, pony trekking and other outdoor activities. Upper Wharfedale is also the perfect place to stay if you wish to drive to the lush sweeping valley of Wensleydale, Swaledale famous for its sheep and wild flower meadows, Malhamdale with its dramatic limestone scenery or Haworth in Bronte country with its moody moorland and steep cobbled streets. A visit to the elegant spa town of Harrogate with tea at Betty's is an absolute must!
The cottage sleeps 4 in two lovely bedrooms, is south facing and enjoys open fell views. Accommodation includes, comfortable sitting room with beamed ceiling, warming wood burning stove; kitchen/dining room; two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), bathroom. Facilities include electric cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, colour TV/Video, and DVD player, radio/cassette/CD, telephone. Iron,ironing board and hairdryer. Night storage heaters in all rooms, on all year round. Electricity and solid fuel (logs) included in the price.
Horseshoe Cottage is a wonderful cosy cottage. Many of our visitors return year after year and we have some lovely comments in our visitors book. To make your life easier, we provide freshly laundered bed linen, towels and tea towels. Electricity is also included in the cost of the cottage, so no more reading meters. We also provide what we believe are sufficient logs for your stay. There is a welcome tray on arrival. All you have to bring is yourselves, some clothes and your food!
