Previous guests point to the attention to detail and nothing being too much trouble for owners, Christopher and Philippa. This charming stone farmhouse boasts stunning views of the Howardian Hills and is idyllically placed in a peaceful country spot, yet close to York and market towns including Pickering and Malton. The B&B is also ideally located for visiting Stately homes such as Castle Howard, Duncombe Park and Nunnington Hall and guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out as there are 3 excellent pubs all within 3 miles of Low Penhowe.
Our delicious breakfasts include of a variety of locally sourced and homemade produce, and are always freshly prepared to your particular request. Our breakfasts have won the "Deliciously Yorkshire Breakfast" seal of approval as well as the Flora Happy Hearts Golden Award. We provide our own free-range eggs, as well as locally cured bacon, sausages and black pudding. We also make our own marmalade, bread, locally grown breakfast cereal and honey from the bees at a nearby farm. Breakfasts are an occasion at Low Penhowe and our charming dining room has stunning north easterly views stretching across the to Howardian Hills and North Yorkshire Moors.
There are two luxury rooms available, both of which are south facing and enjoy views of the picturesque garden and paddocks. From here (depending on the time of the year) you will enjoy seeing our Highland cattle with their calves and our free range chicken clucking around the paddock. Both rooms are situated on the first floor; one with en suite and the other with a private bathroom.
We're happy to make an additional twin or double room for small group bookings (with shared bathroom situated along the corridor) This room enjoys the sun rising in the morning and a backdrop of the stunning Yorkshire Wolds. Low Penhowe has a no smoking policy for the comfort of our guests. Unfortunately we do not accept pets.
