Property Information

Cricket Cottage is a luxurious three bedroom self catering holiday cottage set in an elevated position above the Esk River, near Whitby in Yorkshire. This 4 star property enjoys wonderful valley views and overlooks the grade II listed railway viaduct and open countryside from the decked areas to the rear. This is a fabulous base from which to explore both the Yorkshire coast and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, each of which is a short drive away. The historic fishing town of Whitby was once home to Captain James Cook and provided the inspiration for Bram Stoker's famous gothic horror novel, 'Dracula'.

The wide sandy beaches of Whitby are ideal for a bracing walk out of season and fabulous for bucket and spade days during the summer months. Other coastal villages lying within easy reach are Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay. Walkers will find no shortage of breathtaking routes on the doorstep including along the old railway line between Whitby and Scarborough. A footpath is planned between the site of the cottage and the centre of Whitby which will provide a delightful alternative route into town.

Additional Information

Cricket Cottage comprises of a spacious lounge area with flat screen TV, DVD and radio CD; a modern and well equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, freezer and larder fridge; three bedrooms; large shower/bathroom and a balcony with fabulous views of the listed viaduct and Esk Valley. There is a shared lawn area to the front of the property and the decked area with furniture at the rear is ideal for enjoying al fresco meals during the warmer months. Spacious parking to the front of the cottage.

One family pet is welcome at the property. Non smoking throughout. Children are most welcome and a small cot is available. Groups of up to twelve travelling together may be accomodated via rent of the adjoining property, availability allowing. The cottage is very "homely" and has a great atmosphere about it allowing you to immediately relax.
