The Granary provides a relaxing, cosy retreat for guests to unwind in. Decorated in a French style using lovely furniture, The Granary is a clean and spacious place to enjoy a quiet break. With the fantastic addition of a wood-burning stove in the lounge, guests are treated to a real taste of history here. Enjoy a relaxing holiday and panoramic views of the garden and surrounding moorland at this peaceful cottage.
The Granary Cottage lies within the grounds of Chequers Farm which was once the Slapestone Inn and was regularly visited by travellers. The local area is brimming with history and romance, with its traditional stone cottages and charming shops. The village Church has Saxon, Norman and Medieval origins, which is ideal for history enthusiasts. The Granary is a great base from which to explore the North York Moors and the beautiful coastal areas of Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough and Filey.
The Granary Self Catering Cottage offers accommodation for up to 4 people and comprises of an entrance porch/utility room, great for washing muddy clothes after a day of exploring in the moors! This room them leads into the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner which boasts a wood-burning stove, TV, Digi box and DVD. Appliances include an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. There is also a dining table and 4 chairs. To the first floor, guests will find two spacious bedrooms. The first is a double and the second has a single, French day bed and pull out single bed. The bathroom has an over-bath shower, WC, wash basin, shaver point and radiator for warming the towels ahead of a lovely soak in the bath!
Initial supply of fuel for the wood burner supplied, with the remainder of fuel for background heating. Power, bed linen and towels included. Cot and high chair available on request. Enclosed lawned area with garden furniture and BBQ. Off road parking for 2 cars. One well behaved pet welcome - to be kept to the ground floor and must sleep in the utility/porch.
