Visit Websitefor more informationAlma Cottage has oodles of character and is located on the stone terraced main street of the Yorkshire Dales village of Kirkby Malzeard in Nidderdale. The cottage is over two hundred years old and has been lovingly renovated to a standard which warrants the high quality ETC 4 stars ranking. The cottage has low beamed ceilings and stone stairs, complimented with all the modern comforts the more discerning self catering holidaymaker might require. In winter the cast-iron stove provides a cosy addition to the central heating, while in summer the south-facing stone-walled garden is a veritable sun trap.
Kirkby Malzeard is a friendly and thriving village with two pubs which provide both food and entertainment to the local community. There is an excellent butcher's shop directly across the road and a local stores just a short walk away where you will be able to buy all your daily supplies. There is a fish and chip shop and tearoom which serves lunches in the summer months and, for those visiting with children, there is a playing field a few yards away in the back lane. The surrounding Yorkshire Dales countryside is ideal for walking, cycling, riding and birdwatching and there is a wide selection of guides and maps to local walks available in the cottage.
Alma Cottage has a comfortable lounge with TV, video and DVD player, radio and CD along with a good selection of books and videos, some of which are ideal for the younger members of the family. The cottage is fully centrally heated and there is a wood burning stove in the living area which is perfect for cosy evenings in during the cooler winter months. The separate dining room is ideal for family meals and the kitchen is well equipped with all that the self catering visitor is likely to need. To the rear of Alma Cottage there is a secluded walled garden which is great for relaxing on summer's afternoons and evenings.
Alma Cottage welcomes children and cot, high chair and stair gates are available, should they be required. We do not allow pets to protect against allergies and the house is strictly non smoking throughout. There is also a garage and guaranteed parking.
