Ashes Farm provides a charming holiday cottage in Yorkshire. Situated near Castle Hill, Almondbury, Cruck Cottage date backs to the 17th century, is surrounded by fields and enjoys magnificent views over Huddersfield. Ideal for families or couples Cruck Cottage sleeps up to four people. It is comfortably furnished with attractive beamed ceilings and a well equipped kitchen, perfect for the self catering visitor.
Cruck Cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is the ideal base to explore the area. A network of footpaths from the garden gate will take you in 10 minutes to the Iron Age site on the summit of Castle Hill to enjoy wonderful views across Huddersfield and the tributary valleys, or on easy rambles through woods and fields or longer hikes over the Pennine moors. The Peak District and Bronte country are both within easy driving distance, as are the excellent shopping centres of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield for those in search of a little retail therapy. There is plenty of culture to be found in the area with local museums, a theatre, galleries of nationally known artists, and many musical events, including the 10 day Contemporary Music Festival which attracts artists from all over the world. There are craft shops and mill shops, open markets and flea markets and the largest number of Grade II listed buildings outside Bath!

Cruck Cottage sleeps four people. There are two bedrooms, one family room with a double and a single bed which enjoys both the morning and the evening sun, and one single bedroom. Beds are equipped with sheets, pillows, duvets and bedspreads. The bathroom has bath, shower, WC, and wash basin. The 17th Century cruck beam and roof timbers make an attractive framework for the living room of the cottage. It is well furnished with a comfortable sofa and chairs, a polished beech dining table, coffee table, LCD television and video/DVD player. Centrally heated throughout, there is also a gas fire in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and a full range of utensils. There is an automatic washing machine, tumble drier, iron and ironing board.
