Drift along the beautiful Yorkshire countryside in one of our dreamy self catering canal boats. Our narrow boats sleep up to 5 people and all come equipped with full central heating, hot and cold running water, toilets, wash basin, shower and a full tank of fuel. We even welcome pets of the four legged variety (at a small extra charge). Bed linen is provided. Please bring your own personal towels.The boat controls are as simple as can be - start/stop, forward/reverse, left/right. We provide on-board training before you depart on how to handle the locks and canal etiquette. A DVD is enclosed in the booking package showing you how the locks operate and how the boat steers to provide some background before you arrive.

A canal holiday presents a unique opportunity to see wildlife such as kingfishers and herons in their natural habitat. Numerous footpaths give the hiker a chance to explore the area on foot, using the boat as a base for walking. Whatever your tastes there's plenty of things to see and do en route during your holiday.Hebden Bridge's Alternative Technology Centre are organising the first Local Food Festival with a whole programme of events and activities throughout May 2009, commencing Bank Holiday Monday in St George’s Square with farmers bringing animals, calves, lambs chickens for children to see. Events and attractions include a Real Farmer's Market, Farm Animals in the Square, Pennine Prospects Food Fair (Todmorden), Community Compost Scheme and The Biggest Slug Competition amongst a whole host of others!
