Cuddy's cottage offers guests a home away from home, perfect for a quiet, relaxing break. We are only 0.5miles from the popular village of Scorton which has 2 good pubs, post office and tea room. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, we offer the ideal base for exploring this beautiful area. Only 10 minutes from Richmond, "gateway to the Yorkshire Dales" and "town of the year 2009" plus all the delights North Yorkshire has to offer. This property is a real hidden gem. Comfortably sleeping a family of 4 in a generous sized bedroom with double bed and bunk beds - and if gran and grandad want to come along, there is a comfy sofa bed in the lounge. Fully fitted brand new kitchen with full oven, dishwasher, microwave and full size fridge freezer, plus high quality shower room with large shower cubicle, basin and WC. Ample guest parking, large garden with summer house, decked area and several seating areas. Non smoking property and no pets.
The accommodation was fully renovated in 2009 and all fittings and furnishings are of a very high standard. There are 2 sets of French doors which overlook the lovely garden and surrounding fields, making the property bright and airy. Everything is on ground floor level, offering easy access for less mobile guests. There is fully fitted kitchen with microwave, oven and hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The lounge has an LCD TV/DVD player, the dining table seats 6, and there is a big French dresser for storage, plus it has lots of games etc for those rainy days! The large family bedroom has a full size double bed and bunk beds which is ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. (Also Sofa bed in lounge for +2 available on request). The bathroom has a lovely large shower cubicle, wash basin and WC. Guests are welcome to enjoy our lovely garden with open views, summer house and decked area surrounding the koi pond. There is ample guest parking and space for children to play. Scorton village is very pretty, with two excellent pubs serving fine ales and good food and both are family friendly. The village green is the setting for our local cricket team in summer and numerous events throughout the year. There is also a shop, post office and tea room. The market town of Richmond with its castle, beautiful riverside and array of shops, restaurants and pubs is only ten minutes drive away by car.
Cuddy's is a private annexe, hidden away at the back of the main house. It is fully self contained, enjoying peace and privacy as well as lovely open views. The modern bright interior is completely hidden by the country cottage facade of what was formely a Victorian Railway Inn! The accommodation is all on one level, which allows easy access for both young and more mature guests. The rental rates are inclusive of high quality bed linens, hot water, heating, gas and electricity. We can supply use of a travel cot and high chair on request.
