The Sidings Hotel & Restaurant is conveniently situated just a short drive from the City of York and is surrounded by the scenic countryside of North Yorkshire. This unique hotel offers a distinctive railway theme and is built around five restored Pullman-style railway carriages which have been converted to offer excellent dining facilities and overnight accommodation. A romantic four poster room is available for couples on a special break and we also offer single, double & twin bedrooms.

Dining is available in our converted carriages or you can choose to dine in our lovely conservatory which overlooks the adjacent York to Thirsk railway line. The restaurant serves an excellent range of English, Italian and Greek dishes and once a month, the hotel holds a Greek night with traditional four course Meze served along with Greek music and dancing. Guests are also welcome to enjoy a drink in our bar area with it's wealth of railway memorabilia.

Additional Information

The Sidings is also a unique venue for a business meeting or conference near York. We offer two rooms - The Boardroom can accommodate up to 14 people at £40 per day and The Rocket can accommodate up to 40 people at £60 per day. 8 and 24 hour conference packages are available. Both rooms are set in the converted train carriages and bespoke conference packages are available.
