Charming Arbutus Guesthouse is perfect for walkers. We are ideally located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and within 30 minutes' drive of the Lake District. Historic Arbutus Guest House was originally the Clapham village Vicarage until it was tastefully converted into a guesthouse in 1985. It was built in 1835, and is an excellent example of Georgian architecture. The bedrooms are all well proportioned and the comfortable residents lounge has a welcoming roaring log fire, ideal after a day out walking or just exploring the locality. We even have an efficient drying room. A full central heating system has recently been installed, and all of the bedrooms have en suite facilities.
A wide variety of breakfasts are available which would satisfy the heartiest of appetites. Sample David's special porridge, ordered the night before. For walkers, we have everything from smooth, marked nature trails like the one that starts in our village, to the slightly more adventurous Waterfalls Walk in nearby Ingleton, right up to the justly famous and challenging Three Peaks route.
