    Property Information

Barden Bunk Barn nestles in the shadow of the impressive ruin of Barden Tower, a former hunting lodge extended by Lady Clifford in the 15th Century. Situated on the Duke of Devonshire's Bolton Abbey Estate in Upper Wharfedale, it is an ideal base for access to the Lower Dales. The Bolton Abbey Estate itself has many interesting facets and enjoyable walks. The Estate covers over 30,000 acres with 80 miles of footpaths including walks along the River Wharfe, Barden Moor and to the Valley of Desolation. The Bunk House is open all year round for use.

The Bunk Barn is ideally located to enjoy the Dales whether walking, cycling or undertaking other outdoor pursuits. It is ideal for family parties, rambling clubs, scout groups or even schools. The Barn dates from the 12th century and can accommodate 25 people in 4 bunk rooms, all of which are centrally heated. The dining area is well equipped with wooden benches and lounge chairs, plus there are ample activities for hire on-site including table tennis, darts, boardgames and a pool table. The Bunk House also has a drying room, an enclosed barbecue area and ample toilet and shower facilities in separate male/female format.
