High Belthorpe B&B in Bishop Wilton is a beautifully restored farmhouse, dating from Victorian times and set within its own wooded grounds. We are located towards the southern edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and the surrounding landscape is well suited to outdoor enthusiasts. Meals at our B&B are enjoyed in the attractive dining room, which is furnished with antique pieces that have been in our family for generations. Our breakfasts consist of full English fry ups, cooked with eggs from our free range hens and other locally sourced produce. When winter comes around you can enjoy your evening meal in front of our open fire.
We are a popular accommodation choice for walkers, and it’s easy to see why. The Yorkshire Wolds are right on our doorstep and you can follow sections of the Yorkshire Wolds Way with ease. You can also go riding in and around the area, and we can stable your horses thanks to our onsite livery yard. Anglers should come equipped with fishing equipment when staying with us, as we have a small lake to the back of our bed and breakfast that we keep fully stocked with coarse fish. The city of York is just 14 miles away and is literally packed with attractions, such as the stunning Gothic York Minster cathedral, the jorvick Viking Centre, the York Dungeon, the York Castle Museum and much more. You’ll also be within driving distance of the coastline, so you can spend a day at the seaside if you’d like.
Our three guest rooms consist of two spacious family rooms and one double room, and they all have private bathroom facilities, as well as central heating, TVs, WIFI and tea and coffee trays. Our family rooms can be converted into double rooms, and there are excellent countryside views available from the first floor bedroom. We have recently refurbished our bathroom facilities, including modern fittings in all three of them.
We are a pet friendly bed and breakfast and are more than happy for you to bring your dog on holiday with you, and even allowing dogs into our guest rooms. There are varying prices for use of our livery yard, so please call to find out more. Our WIFI is offered free of charge, and we also have off road parking available. Guests to our B&B can fish from our lake for free, although there are also day tickets available for non-guests.
