We are wonderfully situated in the beautiful Howardian Hills which is classed as an area of outstanding natural beauty, perfect for those wanting a retreat from the bustling city. Dating back from the 17th century this Inn is steeped in history but has been finished with a modern twist, offering eleven contemporary and sleek decorated rooms. The property also boasts two traditional dining rooms, a spacious lounge and bar, and a beer garden that is great for a beverage outdoors on a warm day!

We are greatly located for a peaceful holiday as well as a touring holiday as there are many attractions to be seen in the surrounding area. Nearby Helmsley is a wonderful day out, journey to the past by walking down the cobbled streets here with many quaint and traditional shops to visit. For outdoor activities pop over to the Dalby Forest where you can go on various walks, cycle, and try orienteering. A 19 mile drive will find you in York for the day where you can visit the Castle, York Minster, and Jorvik Viking centre, all great family activities. When arriving back to the Fairfax after a busy day of sightseeing relax and enjoy an evening meal in our restaurant. We provide an extensive menu and provide fresh food that is locally sourced where possible.
