The house is situated on our working family farm, close to the beautiful town of Richmond which is the gateway to the Dales and steeped in history with Georgian architecture, Norman Castle and a cobbled market place. Our home is situated in a quiet and peaceful area but only 1.5 miles from the A1 and A66 at Scotch Corner.
We are situated in a very quiet and peaceful area of North Yorkshire, yet only ten minutes away from the A66 and A1 - ideal for a night's stay for business guests, or leisure travellers heading to Scotland. We have a wealth of historical houses and castles to visit and many lovely gardens including Harlow Carr with the famous Bettys' tea room at Harrogate. Guests can stop by the railway museum at York and on your return enjoy a welcome cup of tea/coffee and a piece of home made fruit loaf.
Our bedrooms have been thoughtfully designed for your comfort, so you can relax after a long journey or a days sightseeing in the wonderful Yorkshire Dales. Both of our bedrooms have comfortable beds with superb mattresses and good quality linen, and modern bathrooms with shower or bath and luxury Gilchrist and Soames toiletries. All windows have fantastic views over our farmland and the surrounding countryside.
There is a comfortable sitting area with plenty of books and brochures to browse through, so you can plan the best places to visit. We can advise you on places to eat out locally from very high class pubs and restaurants - to fish and chips, we can also arrange a taxi for you. We can generally arrange to have a woodpecker on the nut feeder outside the dining room window whilst you have your breakfast!!! We look forward to hearing from you soon.
