Early 17th Century Grade II listed cosy two bedroomed cottage in the village of Old Town, one mile from Hebden Bridge in the South Pennines. Recently awarded 4 star rating by English Tourist Board for the high quality of accomodation and services provided. The cottage was fully renovated in 2004 by the current owners, restoring and retaining many original features including open fireplace with gas fueled woodburning stove , mullion windows and original oak beams and is comfortably furnished to accommodate 4 guests.The lounge is cosy and full of character and includes colour t.v with sky, sound system, DVD and free wi-fi internet access.The fully fitted dining kitchen includes electric cooker, washing machine, microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and seating for four people. The cottage is tastefully decorated to a high standard with fully co-ordinated soft furnishings throughout.

Bedroom 1 has a comfortable double divan bed, spacious fitted wardrobes, dressing table, bedside cabinet, mullion windows and oak beams. Bedroom 2 has adult bunk beds, chest of drawers & storage. The bathroom has recently been retiled, has a modern electric shower over the bath, wash basin and w.c, tiled floor & bath surround, quality towels & toiletries included. Full gas central heating and double glazing. All heating and lighting,bed linen and towels, welcome food pack, complimentary fresh fruit, fresh flowers and toiletries are included. We provide plenty of information about walking & touring in the area, maps, leaflets and descriptions of walks from the door of the cottage. There is parking for 2 cars alongside the small cottage garden and a small patio area with garden furniture. Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement. There are 2 local traditional pubs in the village within 0.5 miles of the cottage, both serve real ale and home cooked food & have quiz & folk nights. Haworth, the home of the Brontes, is only a 15 minute drive away and Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales a 40 minute drive.

Directions

From Hebden Bridge take the A6033 towards Keighley. After 1.5 miles take a sharp right turn signed to Old Town & Midgley on to Ackroyd Lane. Continue on Ackroyd Lane with magnificent views of Heptonstall and Stoodley Pike to your right, then take the first turn on the right into Old Town Mill Lane. The cottage is approximately 200yds on the right of the lane, after the Cricket ground. There is a shorter route to/from Hebden Bridge which is 1 mile via Birchcliffe Road, Sandy Gate & Walker Lane however the route described is the easiest to follow in order to find the cottage initially.
