Thornton Lodge is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is ideally located for visiting York. It is situated between the North Yorkshire Moors to the east, and the Yorkshire Dales to the west, and of course we are part of Herriot Country. This area is rich in heritage and tradition giving you so much to see and do.
Thornton Lodge Farm B&B offers secluded ground floor accommodation adjoining the main house. There is a private entrance for guests and two rooms are easily accessible by wheelchair (graded level 2 accessibility). Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom, television and a full beverage tray. Relax in the sunny south facing conservatory linked to the bedrooms, enjoying views of the garden, pond and open fields beyond. Wake up to an award winning full English breakfast served in the conservatory which includes some of the finest local meats and freshly laid eggs from the farm hens.
Thornton Lodge Farm also offers a spacious and private 5CL adult only caravan site overlooking the peaceful freshwater trout lakes. The site enjoys breathtaking views and our rural location guarantees a relaxing break. The site has immediate access from the road, electric hookups, a chemical disposal point as well as a BBQ and picnic area. Dogs are welcome providing they are well behaved but must be kept on a lead. The National Cycle Route 65 passes the farm as well as numerous Public Footpaths and Brideways.
Thornton Lodge Farm is the ideal location for a wedding reception, a well kept open field overlooking the lakes with superb veiws makes this an ideal romantic private wedding venue, with plenty parking. We also offer this wonderful facility as a caravan rally site. We also offer trout fly fishing on our lakes and clay pigeon shooting, Courses for beginners to advanced with our highly qualified instructors can be arranged. Bring your horse on holiday excellent riding facilities, cross country jumping course and stabling can be provided.
