Hough Gate Cottage is situated at 1250ft on the Calderdale way. Also known as Hough Gate Head Farm on O.S. Maps, we have panoramic views of the Pennines from all rooms, but only 10 minutes by car from Halifax. There are excellent walking and cycling areas in the surrounding countryside and the property is in local distance to many activities. All within a half hour drive are Haworth with a steam railway, Bronte Parsonage, Hebden Bridge and Sowerby Bridge. Keighley & Skipton, the Gateway to the Dales, Huddersfield; "Last of the Summer Wine" Country Bradford; The National Media Museum, Ice Skating and the Eureka Children's Museum.
Halifax has many magnificent Victorian buildings including the Town Hall, designed by Sir Charles Barry (who created the Houses of Parliament) and the church of All Souls, built by Sir George Gilbert Scott. Other attractions include the Calderdale Industrial Museum and the Piece Hall Gallery. Halifax is a bustling town and noted for its shopping arcades and markets. There are also plenty of parks and open spaces and a particular section of the Rochdale Canal runs through the Calder Valley.

The cottage has an l shaped dining room/sitting room with TV, DVD player and internet access, sun lounge, and a well equipped kitchen, with fridge freezer, microwave and electric cooker. There is one single bedroom and bathroom with hand shower, a utility room with washer, wash basin and toilet. The 1st floor has one family room with a double and single bed, and there is one twin bedded room and a bathroom with overhead shower.
