    The Black Swan at Oldstead is a 16C Inn set in beautiful rolling countryside near Byland Abbey in The North York Moors National Park. It is one of only three restaurants to be newly listed as a 'Rising Star' in The Michelin Great Britain & Ireland 2010 Guide. The restaurant has been awarded Two AA Rosettes and "Best Use of Regional Produce in a Restaurant. Hotel, Pub or Inn" by the Regional Food Group at the 2009-2010 Deliciously Yorkshire Awards. The Black Swan at Oldstead is the only Restaurant with Rooms in Yorkshire with 5 AA Yellow Stars (awarded to the top 10% of 5 star accommodation) and a 2 AA Rosette restaurant - gaining a reputation as one of the best places to eat and stay in Yorkshire.

    The original building of The Black Swan dates back to the 16th Century and is set on the edge of the small village of Oldstead amidst beautiful rolling National Park Countryside. A quiet haven away from traffic and main roads. The Black Swan is situated close to Byland Abbey, Coxwold and Kilburn and easily reached from Ampleforth College, Thirsk, Helmsley and York.The area around Oldstead provides a spectacular landscape that is steeped in history.

    The bedrooms are furnished to an exceptionally high standard with quality antiques and have solid oak floors, stylish soft furnishings and paintings. Each room has a welcoming sofa, a well-stocked mini-bar and a choice of wine alongside a selection of teas, coffees, homemade cake and biscuits. The really comfortable top quality pocket-sprung king-size beds have crisp white cotton bed linen with either thick winter or cooler summer duvets. Equipment in the bedroom includes a digital LCD television with DVD player, CD player, radio and broadband internet access. Each luxurious bathroom has limestone tiles with under-floor heating, a beautiful cast iron or copper bateau bath and a shower in a walk-in wet-room area. There are large fluffy towels, bath sheets and robes and toiletries by Molton Brown.
