Delightful bed and breakfast guest accommodation in West Witton near Leyburn. Spacious rooms, cosy lounge and dining room. Excellent Yorshire breakfasts. Bike storage and car park.
The Old Star is a 17th century ex-coaching inn run as a pub until 1983 and now we operate it as a warm and very friendly guest house in West Witton. It still retains several original features such as the mounting block outside and the stables opposite, whilst the lounge and dining-room have the original oak beams exposed. We have a large car park and can offer secure bicycle storage.
We have seven bedrooms, all with central heating, a washbasin, well stocked hospitality tray, hair dryer, TV and shaver sockets. They comply with VB threestar requirements. Five rooms have en-suite bathrooms with WC, shower or bath. We offer an excellent English breakfast using local and homemade products while lighter or vegetarian options are also available.
West Witton is a village of great antiquity and was recorded in the Domesday Book as Witun (village in a wood). It is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is an ideal centre for walking, cycling and touring the Dales. On one side the village is dominated by Penhill while to the other a lane winds down to the unspoiled River Ure. There are 2 excellent pubs, both of which sell real ales and good food. We also have a very friendly and well stocked village shop which sells newspapers. Price provided is with en-suite. Please call direct for rooms without en-suite as at a lower price. Children over the age of 4 are half the adult price whilst children under the age of 4 are free.
Discounts available on weekly stays.
