When looking for a self-catering cottage in Whitby, look no further than the excellent White Goose and Heron's Reach Cottages, which provide comfortable accommodation for 4 - 6 people. Situated on the banks of the River Esk, the cottages are conveniently located close to the other coastal villages of Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay. These delightful mews cottages have been stylishly furnished and decorated to provide welcoming holiday accommodation and there is the advantage of a balcony from which the view of passing steam trains and an abundance of wildlife can be enjoyed. Communal gardens surround these charming properties with a slipway available for launching boats into the river.
There are numerous attractions in the immediate area to suit all ages, including fishing, sailing, golf and miniature railway. Whitby is just a short walk or drive away where you will be able to meander in the cobbled streets of the old town, climb the 99 steps to the abbey or stroll along the piers that lead to the entrance to the port. There are several outstanding walks virtually on the doorstep including the old railway line between Whitby and Scarborough and the planned Esk Valley footpath which will link the site itself to the city centre of Whitby providing a delightful alternative way of reaching the town.

Both White Goose Cottage and Heron's Reach Cottage are mirrored in their appearance and the excellent level of quality that they provide. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and double sliding doors leading to the 2nd bedroom with double sofa bed (with sprung mattress) and access to the balcony, from which guests can survey the local countryside and communal garden. The 3rd bedroom has a single bed and an extra pull-out bed for additional guests and the bathroom has shower over a space saver bath, WC, hand basin and shaver point. There's, of course, a living room with a comfortable seating area and TV with DVD player and Sky, as well as a kitchen with dining area and a range of appliances - including a dishwasher and laundry facilities.
